This post is actually late. Korse Studios in Bangalore has been keeping Inkfruit Tees for quite some time!

This is a really funky place with Japanese Cross Cut Jeans, Italian Fit Shirts, M-Square Casuals, and 'loads of fashion tips' (thats what their brochure says)

In fact you can even visit it for their cool ambience, they have this old car in their shop with clothes on and in it!! :) Sounds interesting, I myself didn't go but Kashyap (Inkfruit, CEO) went there and told me about it.

Something for the Kids...

A few days back, around children's day some of us at Inkfruit had gone and hung with some street kids. Teaching them. It could be called social service but we found it a very fulfilling and enjoyable activity.

For most people their interaction with these kids ends when they find their clean car glasses touched by filthy hands or hear the droning noise of a beggar kid asking repeatedly for food.

However you might be surprised actually interacting with these kids, teaching them, can make you see so many treasures they have within themselves like all other kids! It is sad to see these beautiful qualities go waste because of scarce opportunities.

So we decided to do our bit from Inkfruit. We had some 1,500 t-shirts printed for these kids with some really funky designs, and have contacted NGO's to whom we will be giving tees so they can distribute them to the kids they are taking care of.

One such NGO we have gone to and personally distributed tees to kids was Salaam Baalak Centre in Chowpatty. They have around 75 kids.... and it is a quaint little place where these kids are taught, given food etc..

We did not photograph the kids with tees and stuff cause the organization has the policy of respecting a kids right to privacy and not taking their photos which reveal their identity.

We will be giving more tees to other NGO's will keep you'll updated on that front.

Just wanted to congratulate the designers for their really, really good submissions for the TALKING TEES contest. We were going to announce 10 winners however some of the designs were too hard to miss so we had to announce 22 winners!

So a big kudos to the designers!

Also wanted to mention that we will be making an album of all the winners of a particular contest on facebook. Since currently once the contest winners are declared the winning designs all get mixed up. So if you wanna check out winners of a particular contest you should be able to look it up on facebook.

Terror Attacks Mumbai

Head quartered in Mumbai, we were all totally shocked at these attacks which just took place at Mumbai. Initially we were not even clear about the situation and was hard to believe that open firing, blasts, hostage situations and encounters have been taking place in so many locations of the city.

We all in the inkfruit team are ok. We totally condemn these attacks and hope that all you designers, tee lovers and et al are alright. Our sincerest condolences and best wishes to people who have been affected by this unfortunate tragedy.

Just got some pics for you ... these are from a rock show that was sponsored by Inkfruit. It was a cool event, near Infiniti Mall, Andheri, Mumbai, not too many people but the bands were quite awesome!!

Black, Walk to Hell, Deep Rock and Mountain Ecstacy are the bands that played.

This happened some time back so didn't have the rock on winners then.....

Near Eros theatre, in the churchgate area of Mumbai lies a quaint shop called Eros book Centre.

It is next to a money-market called Bank of India and a food joint called Shiv Sagar. This little book centre hosts books (as the name suggests) and many other trinkets, chocolates, mobile recharges and other goodies. Well now it also hosts Inkfruit Tshirts!! Yippeee... :p

So if you be a traveller to these parts of South Mumbai, do visit our outpost and check Inkfruit Tees out!

Tata NEN Hottest Startups

We have recieved feedback from a few places that despite having some great and creative designs, the website isn't that great in terms of it's colour, layout etc. Also it doesn't seem to have a web 2.0 feel to it.

We are actually planning a whole new look for the website and are working on it. But it would be great if you guys could actually let us know your thoughts about the site.

In fact to really get your views we will be putting up two different looks for you guys to vote on.

So stay tuned for a whole new inkfruit experience..... and let that feedback keep rolling in! :p

Some absolutely stunning work has been done by Mohit, Chandan & Chetan for this t-shirt exhibition by Inkfruit at the 2 locations - across quite a few places along the main corridors where people could see loads of Inkfruit designs at a glance. We were swamped with requests to sell the tees on the spot - but alas ... the organizing teams did not allow us to do so. :( Sorry people, you will have to come over to the website www.inkfruit.com, and buy your favourite t-shirts there.

Hey to all fruitees.

We guys are really excited about our participation at malhar 2008. Its also going to be a nostalgic trip for me and kashy. During our iit days, we hadn't missed a single malhar as students. This time it will surely be different.

Inkfruit will be displaying some of the awesome t-shirt designs created by the community. Its not going to be a huge trade fair like exhibition. (display would be in one of the arches) Its gonna be cool, trendy, stylish and creatively adhering to the Inkfruit spirit.

We are just too eager to upload the photographs of the event and share the fun with you guys :)

This is gonna be a quick scribble on lots of stuff ...

Those of you active on the website would have seen the change happening on it. I want to take time out to recognize contirbutions to it. Firstly, many of the Inkfruit members - they have been pro-active in helping us out in terms of feedback and suggestions for the website. Secondly, Chetan - who has helped us convert these suggestions into a much more appealing website layout. Thirdly, Urvish, bharat and Navneet - the techy guys who made the change possible.

Lots of users have written in and told us how they like the cleaner whiter layout much more than the earlier blue one. I must say that this is only an interim change - in due course, with help from all of you we will make the Inkfruit platform a pleasure for all of you to spend time on.

Please do drop us a mail at hobbes@inkfruit.com with any suggestions you might have.

Also do help us identify a few deadlinks or problems that might be troubling you guys. We promise that we will solve them as soon as possible!

Malhar, for the un-initiated, is one of the largest student gatherings in the city of Bombay.

One of the interesting things that has happened over the last 2 weeks is the amount of jargon we have come across for what we do. :P

Yeah well ... all the chaos that happens at Inkfruit is called crowd-sourcing - i.e. a collaborative movement where the 'crowd' (thats all of you) provide us with what is to be printed/produced! :)

Its also called customer c0-creation. Some people were even using initials like UGC ... :D ... sounds like cutting edge rocket science doesn't it?! ... UGC is user generated content ...

We've been having a laugh about all of this - I mean at the end of everything its just a bunch of people having fun. And words like UGC, crowd sourcing, etc. hardly capture that spirit.

Proto n Inkfruit

We just visited Proto - a get together of most of the startups in India currently. Its an amazing place to meet people and get a snapshot of what kind of new products are coming up in the web space (thats all we would be interested in right?)

Twas a lot of fun ... and extremely useful. There are loads of companies with whom we can work around synergies. One clear benefit is that we can expect loads of benefits being passed on to our users through tie-ups. So all of you on Inkfruit, wait up! Soon there will be loads of freebies and special offers coming your way. :)

Unfortunately, having come across Proto too late for participation this year, we couldn't squeeze ourselves in. Hopefully we will showcase the great stuff being done by people on our website in the next edition happening in Jan 09.
