The Great Indian October Fest (TGIOF)

Have you ever heard of a city transforming? Well Bangalore (or should I say Bangaluru) did last weekend and we were delighted to be a part of it.

A saying goes "Beer brings people together", and over the 23rd to the 25th of October it did just that. Common Colors did a fabulous job at organizing the India's only beer fest in Bangalore. We were privileged, that Common Colors invited us to partner with them for the events merchandise.

As most of you Infruitarians must know, we ran a contest called Intoxica which captured the creative juice of our brilliant designers. The winning designs from this contest were showcased and sold at the event.

We were truly humbled by the response our t-shirts received at the festival. We really loved the fact that our t-shirts blended perfectly with the mood and positive vibe that surrounded this event.

'The Great Indian October Fest' created the perfect bend of culture, youth, music, fashion and not to forget chilled beer!

Inkfruit Digits, a revolutionary concept straight from the depths of the Inkfruit labs has ensured to take the t-shirt design world to another planet.

Digital printing, the process used for this collection of t-shirts, has given us the flexibility to use as many colors as we would want and allows us to capture gradients. That's not all, this process gives us the versatility to capture photography on a t-shirt. This can open up a whole new avenue for designers.

Spreading the Joy

A couple of months ago, while surfing the web, we came across an article about the impending 'Joy of Giving' campaign. A truly revolutionary initiative, that had the promise to actually activate the masses towards giving back in whatever way they could. The cross section of society that was going to participate in this movement was most impressive.

We decided then that we, the Inkfruit team, had to get in on the action and help out in whatever way we could.

To play our part in the 'Joy of Giving' week, we partnered with ateetude.de, Masoom, Leo club of Mumbai and yes, the Inkfruit family (our members). Together, we launched the 'Ateetude of Giving' campaign that promised to give one t-shirt to charity on every t-shirt sold.

Finally, last Saturday the 3rd of October, we organized a small event in a night school at Worli(Mumbai). All the kids in this school got a brand new Inkfruit tshirt.

All thanks to everyone that took part in the 'Ateetude of Giving' campaign, these kids faces lit up with a smile.

Kingfrisher's THE GREAT INDIAN OCTOBER FEST (TGIOF) is a Beer Festival, initiated in 2005. It’s been held during the first weekend of October each year for 3 days, which is the festival season in India. It is a large national festival combined with tourism, culture, sports, economy and trade. In 2007 the event had registered 65,000 people and TGIOF was officially declared as the largest commercial event in India.

INTOXICA an outcome of Inkfruit's partnership with TGIOF, is going to capture all that this festival stands for. This design contest ensures to capture the essence of hanging out with friends, listening to music and sipping on your favorite brew.

Over the last few years Inkfruit has gone a long ways. Starting off as the brainchild of the Maharaja and the Nawab (Kashyap dalal and Navneet Rai). Now we are a team of over 25 people working day and night to deliver the coolest t-shirts around.

After all the blood has been shed and hours have been invested, Inkfruit today has many reasons to celebrate.
And celebrate we did!

Inkfruit Labs - Color changing tees

World Population Day!

The 11th of July is the World Population Day, an initiative headed by United Nations Development Programme started in 1989.

India has the world's largest number of poor people in a single country. Of its 1 billion inhabitants, an estimated 260 million are below the poverty line.

We take this opportunity of ‘World Population Day’ to promote change in the Indian mindset, to make our society one where parents talk to their young ones about ‘the birds and the bees’ – a society where every couple knows and follows the basics of family planning.

In an attempt to promote the use of contraception, Inkfruit is giving one condom free with every online order between 9th July and 13th July.

Please do support this cause and try and revolutionize Indian society and try and control the population of our nation.

Inkfruit supports the Gay community

Couple of days back, the Indian high court legalized gay sex among consenting adults, repelling article 377 of the Indian penal code. We at Inkfruit support this decision and are with the gay community for their right to live freely and their right to choose!

To show our solidarity we released a special tee, designed by our in-house designers... if you support the gay community show it with what you wear!

King of Pop, we salute you

The 25th of June always remains a day of mourning, the day the world lost their very own Peter Pan. ‘The King of Pop’, Michael Jackson even though no more, he will always be remembered as the man who changed the face of music single handedly.

We at Inkfruit are kids of the eighties, we as well as millions out there were born and brought up on songs like Thriller, Cry, Beat it, Billie Jean and many more.

Although surrounded by scandals over the last decade, MJ will always be remembered as the child maestro from the Jackson 5, the masters of the moon walk, the creator of Neverland but most of all he will be remembered for the soul shaking music he created.

Mr. Jackson, may you find peace.
